Associates does not have its own flat rate system, but we work
closely with each of the flat rate provider companies throughout
the trades industry.
Flat rate pricing is primarily used for
repair work (not installation) within the residential service
environment with some applications to light commercial. Flat rate
pricing is going to become the standard of the trades industry,
not necessarily because it is a great system (although it is) but
because the cost of running a company continues to increase.
When the cost of doing business, coupled with the increasing
cost of hiring and retaining quality techs, forces the company's
hourly
rate to exceed $70-$80 per hour billing on a time and material
basis, the contractor generally encounters customer resistance.
Flat rate pricing allows contractors to price the total repair to
the customer so the hourly rate is never discussed. Flat rate
