Steve discusses the foundation stone of why we work. Looking back to ancient Rome, slaves looked like everyone else. They were educated, well trained and skilled workers who were protected from their evil masters. Today’s workers are a lot like the Roman slaves, and are often deprived of their dignity. Their production output belongs to, and is regulated by, their master (the company). To meet their basic needs, they must conform to the company’s ways and become like middle class America.
